Vicki Wilson and her 155cm mare Showtym Girl jumping in the Puissance at the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show, March 19 2011. Vicki elected to ride bareback “to give the others a chance”. After clearing 1.82m, she retired from the competition as her mare “Cherry” had the Speed Horse of the Year class the next morning (in which she placed 5th.) The heights in this video are (in order): 1.35m (4’5″) 1.55m (5’1″) 1.65m (5’5″) 1.82m (6’0″) As you can see the lighting was pretty poor, which makes this all the more impressive. Definitely a crowd favourite and for many people, the highlight of the show, totally stealing Adrian Bruce’s limelight even though he cleared 1.92m on Witheze. Who used to be Vicki’s ride, so perhaps she gets some of the credit for that too!
