This effectively shows how one can get to Lyttelton (the port, located on the steep Port Hills) from Cathedral Square (the heart of Christchurch), Christchurch (NZ’s third largest city), following a direct route which heads down ONLY six streets – Colombo (Christchurch’s longest), Hereford (home of many International Colleges), Manchester (the red light district), High, Ferry Road and Tunnel Road (strangely classified as a motorway) which features New Zealand’s longest road tunnel. Don’t be surprised if you see vehicles over 15 years old continually appearing in this vid – As salt is almost never used on New Zealand’s roads in winder, New Zealander’s generally keep their cars on the road far longer than other countries… Consider this now a video time capsule of Christchurch and Lyttelton, which were struck by a disasterous earthquake on February 22 2011. Several of the buildings shown are sadly no more due to damage sustained. Soundtrack is Rogue Traders – “World go round” (2005)
